Detailed Instructions:

  • About This Window: This is a new, secondary browser window. While you are filling out the form, you may minimize it and re-open it as needed. Quitting this window by using the "X" button in the upper right-hand corner will remove this window completely and leave you back at the form, which is in the original window.

  • General Notes: Some fields are optional and some are required. The ones with a red asterisk (*) are required. This information must be sent or the script for this page will send you an error message. I need these fields filled out, so I can add you to the form, reach you if there's a problem, etc. Your information will not be sold, rented or given to any third party for any reason.

    Certain fields are required to have data in them, but I may not need it. For any required field that does not apply to you, just leave it as it is. For example, if you don't need to put anything in the body of a listserver message, the word "blank" is already there and you don't need to change it. I'll see it as "blank" and I'll know that I don't need to use it when creating your entry.

  • First Name - Type in your first name; capitalize it. (ex., Bob)

  • Last Name - Type in your last name; capitalize it. (ex., Smith)

  • Ezine Name - Type in the name of your Ezine or Newsletter

  • Category - Chose the category that best describes your Ezine. If you don't see one that really fits, select "Other" and type in a category you'd like to suggest. (in the white text box just below the drop-down list.) I'll add new categories to the drop-down list as needed.

  • Email 1 - Type in the email address where I can reach you. I'll be sending you a note to tell you when I've added your Ezine to the system. When I make improvements to the system, I'll send you the new information. Be sure you've typed the address correctly!

  • Email 2 - Type in the address that people use to subscribe to your Ezine. Many people use many different listservers. Most often, sending a message to the list server is how people subscribe to your ezine.

    [ Example: mylist-subscribe@egroups.com ] Just be sure this is the right address for send a subscribe or unsubscribe message. If you don't know the address, please find out what it is before you continue. Your list provider or Web host administrator should be able to help you.

  • Subject 1 - Subject: line of a SUBSCRIBE message to you or your listserver
    Some listservers require a specific Subject: line; these are usually seen by the listserver as commands to subscribe, unsubscribe, etc. If they are used by your listserver, be sure you type them correctly. In some cases, a person expects these messages to come directly to him or her, and to tell him/her to add or remove a list member. This is not a problem for my system; just put what you want to get as the subject of a SUBSCRIBE message in this field.

  • Body 1 - Body text of a SUBSCRIBE message to you or your listserver
    Similar to Subject 1. Some listservers, such as the ones sold by http:www.profitstream.com , get their commands in the body of the message.

  • Subject 2 - Subject: line of an UNSUBSCRIBE message to you or your listserver
    Some listservers require a specific Subject: line; these are usually seen by the listserver as commands to subscribe, unsubscribe, etc. If they are used by your listserver, be sure you type them correctly. In some cases, a person expects these messages to come directly to him or her, and to tell him/her to add or remove a list member. This is not a problem for my system; just put what you want to get as the subject of an UNSUBSCRIBE message in this field.

  • Body 2 - Body text of an UNSUBSCRIBE message to you or your listserver.

    Similar to Subject 1. Some listservers, such as the ones sold by http:www.profitstream.com , get their commands in the body of the message.

    Note: Many listservers use a separate address for UNSUBSCRIBE requests (Ex., Topica and eGroups). If your list is managed by this type of listserver, enter the unsubscribe address here. (Ex., mylist-unsubscribe@egroups.com)

  • Web Site URL - This is the top-level address of *your* Web site
    On the Quick-Subscribe Form, each entry contains a hyperlink marked "Website". The address you type in here determines where a visitor will be taken when they click that link. It's OK if the Web site is a free site, an affiliate site, etc. that may have a long URL. If you are unable to type the full URL in this field, let me know and I'll make it accept more characters. Currently, it accepts up to 40 characters. You may leave out the http:// part if you're a little short on space. (But let me know anyway, OK?)

  • Web Site Title - Type in the name of your Web site if you want to. I'll add that to the information I have about you; it won't be used by the form.

  • Link URL - Enter the address of the Web page you where you want *your* visitors to go *after* they complete the form. This will be coded into the special links that you will get by email after you submit your information. It can be your home page, the page where they found the Ezine-subscription link, or any other page; it's up to you. Be sure it is accurately typed; take your time with this important item!

  • Phone - Enter your phone number if you wish.

  • Fax - Enter your (fax)phone number if you wish.
