Identify Your Target Market
- What are your interests, skills, experiences ? What sort
of people are you familiar with ? As an example, if you
are an avid golfer, you may want to design a site that
sells golf equipment, instruction, etc. Find a market you
are comfortable with, and know something about. Then do a
little brainstorming about this target group of people.
- Find answers to questions like:
- What are their needs ?
- What are their wants ?
- What problems do they have ?
- How can you solve their problems, or meet their needs ?
To help answer these questions, try this. Make a list of
words or phrases related to your interests. Type them into several
search engines and see what sort of sites are returned. Visit
some of the top-ranked sites and see what they offer. They are
